A kidney stone is an irregularly-shaped solid mass or crystal that can be as small as a grain of sand up to the size of a golf ball. There are several risk factors for developing kidney stones. - Uric acid kidney stone is the second most common. They can occur in people with gout, diabetes, obesity, and other types of metabolic syndrome.
- Struvite stones result from a kidney infection. These stones can be large and cause urinary obstruction.

Berberis vulgaris: Sticking pain in the region of kidneys radiating around abdomen, to hips and groins. Stitches from kidneys into the bladder. Urine with thick mucus and bright-red, mealy sediment.
Sarsaparilla: Urine scanty, slimy, flaky, sandy, bloody with Gravel. Renal colic and dysuria in infants.
Ocimum canum: Symptoms of renal calculus are pronounced. High acidity, formation of spike crystals of uric acid in urine. Turbid, thick, purulent, bloody urine with brick-dust red or yellow sediment.
Solidago virgaurea: Pain in region of the kidneys, with dysuria. Urine scanty, reddish brown, thick sediment, dysuria and gravel.
Pareira brava: The urinary symptoms are most important. Useful in renal colic and renal calculi.
Senecio aureus: Pain in the lumbar region, particularly in left kidney; quantity of urine below normal; urine red, depositing a brickdust sediment.

Indications: For renal calculi, sharp pain in the kidney with burning and pain across the back. Helps relieve painful urination and helps to dissolve kidney, ureter and bladder stones.
Dosage: 10-15 drops in some water 3-4 times a day. In acute cystitis the dose should be taken every 1-2 hours. Revert to normal dosage as soon as improvement starts or as prescribed by the physician.
