Defectaion is the last stop in the movement of food through the Digestive Tract. Nux vomica: Flatulent distension, with spasmodic colic. Constipation, with frequent ineffectual urging, incomplete and unsatisfactory. Constriction of rectum, frequent ineffectual desire or passing but small quantities at each attempt. Itching, blind Haemorrhoids. Alternate Diarrhea and Constipation.

Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Almost everyone experiences constipation at some point in their life, a poor diet and lifestyle typically is the cause (Functional Constipation), overuse of laxatives may be another reason.
